Frequently Asked Questions
Below are frequently asked questions about TMProxy services. Click on a question to see the answer.
Residential Proxy
What is a residential proxy?
Residential proxies provide the ability to choose a desired location, such as a country, city, or zip code, allowing users to collect web data as if they were physically present in that area. Residential proxies provide alternative IP addresses assigned by ISPs, offering higher anonymity and flexibility in web data collection.
What are the benefits of residential proxies?
Residential proxies allow you to access and collect data from complex target websites that your business would not be able to access otherwise due to location-based barriers. You can collect data using real user IPs — see how your ads appear to consumers worldwide or what prices are being shown to customers in different locations.
What can I use residential proxies for?
- Bypass geo-restrictions: Access content limited to specific geographic regions
- Web scraping: Collect data at scale without getting IP banned
- Price comparison & market research: Track competitor product prices
- Social media management: Manage multiple accounts without being flagged
- Ad verification: Check ad display across different locations
- SEO monitoring: Track search rankings from multiple locations
- Privacy & anonymity: Protect your online identity, hide your real IP
What protocols are available?
TMProxy residential proxies support HTTP/S and SOCKS5 protocols. In most cases, HTTP and HTTPS proxies will be the best fit.
Is using residential proxies legal?
Yes, using residential proxies is completely legal. However, TMProxy has a strict KYC process to ensure customers use the service responsibly and in compliance with the law.
How do I buy residential proxies?

Is there a bandwidth limit?
TMProxy applies traffic control to ensure stability for all customers. Each proxy has a maximum throughput of 50Mbps. If you need higher capacity, please contact TMProxy.
Datacenter Proxy
What is a Datacenter Proxy?
Datacenter Proxies are IPs assigned to a server, through which your traffic is routed to change your IP address and location.
What are the advantages of Datacenter Proxies?
With shorter hops and simplified architecture, Datacenter Proxies are both the fastest proxy type and the most cost-effective option. Datacenter IPs are static and can be kept as long as you want — ideal for managing multiple accounts or social media profiles.
How do businesses use Datacenter Proxies?
From competitive intelligence and marketing to brand security, digital asset protection, and public database scanning. Datacenter Proxies are well-suited for accessing websites that don’t use complex blocking systems.
Where are TMProxy’s Datacenter Proxies located?
TMProxy has Datacenter Proxies in Vietnam.
Are Datacenter Proxies fast?
Yes. Datacenter Proxies are hosted entirely in data centers and are not linked to ISPs. This simplified architecture makes them faster than ISP or Residential Proxies because they require fewer intermediate hops.
Shared or dedicated Datacenter Proxy?
- Dedicated: You have exclusive access to the IPs, keep them as long as you want. Best for managing multiple accounts.
- Shared: More cost-effective, suitable for bypassing geo-restrictions, ad verification, and simple web scraping.
What protocols do Datacenter Proxies support?
TMProxy Datacenter Proxies support HTTP/S and SOCKS5 protocols.
ISP Proxy
What is an ISP Proxy?
TMProxy’s ISP Proxy network is built from residential IPs purchased or leased from Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for commercial use. Target websites identify ISP IPs as if they were residential IPs, even though they are actually hosted on servers.
How do ISP Proxies work?
Using real IPs from ISPs allows you to access websites as any regular internet user would, while achieving the high speeds characteristic of server-based proxies.
What can I use ISP Proxies for?
ISP Proxies allow you to view content, perform ad verification, and ensure quality from a real user perspective. Common uses include: web scraping, social media marketing, AdTech, website testing, travel, SEO.
What is a static residential proxy?
Static residential proxies combine the anonymity of residential proxies with the speed and reliability of datacenter proxies. These proxies are linked to a fixed IP address from a residential ISP and are used exclusively by one user — ensuring high performance and stable connections.
